FAQ

ZapBlocker questions and product facts.

Product facts, installation details, material information, packaging, and ordering answers.

What is ZapBlocker?

ZapBlocker is an electric fence pipe insulator designed to help keep energized electric fence conductors separated from steel pipe fencing and other fence structures.

What problem does ZapBlocker solve?

Electric fence wire can ground out when it touches steel pipe or another conductive fence structure. ZapBlocker helps support and isolate the conductor so the fence can work properly.

What is ZapBlocker made from?

ZapBlocker is made from EPDM rubber for strength, flexibility, weather resistance, and long service life.

Is ZapBlocker patent pending?

Yes. ZapBlocker is patent pending.

How many pieces come in a retail bag?

Each retail bag contains 100 ZapBlocker insulators.

What is the retail price?

The retail price is $75 per 100 count bag.

Does ZapBlocker require drilling?

ZapBlocker is designed to be used with compatible cable clips, which can help avoid drilling into steel pipe fencing.

How does ZapBlocker install?

Attach compatible cable clips to the fence structure, insert the ZapBlocker insulator into the clip, route the electric fence conductor through the opening, then connect and test your electric fence system.

What type of fencing is ZapBlocker designed for?

ZapBlocker was designed primarily for steel pipe fencing, but the concept may also be used with wood, plastic, vinyl, composite, fiberglass, and other fence structures when used with a suitable clip or fastener.

Can the clip be attached different ways?

Yes. Depending on the fence structure and installation method, compatible clips may be welded, clamped, fastened, attached, screwed, bolted, molded, or otherwise secured to the fence structure.

Can it be used on wood or vinyl fencing?

ZapBlocker may be used with a clip or embedded clip arrangement that can be screwed or bolted to wood, vinyl, plastic, composite, fiberglass, or other non-metal fence products when installed properly.

What electric fence conductors can it support?

ZapBlocker is intended to accommodate multiple conductor types including poly rope, mule tape style electric fencing, electric rope, poly wire, electric wire, and high-tensile wire, provided the conductor fits the insulator opening.

What size is the opening?

The opening through the insulator is approximately 3/8 inch in diameter, allowing conductors smaller than that size to pass through and be supported.

What shape is the insulator?

The insulator is generally D-shaped and includes wing-like sides that help keep the energized conductor separated from the fence structure.

Why does the insulator have an outer groove?

The insulator includes a groove around its outer edge that engages and retains a metal clip, helping hold the insulator securely in place.

Is ZapBlocker flexible?

Yes. The EPDM rubber construction provides flexibility while still being durable enough for ranch, farm, and livestock fencing conditions.

Who is ZapBlocker made for?

ZapBlocker is made for ranchers, horse owners, livestock producers, farmers, fence contractors, and anyone running electric fence on steel pipe fencing.

What comes in a master case?

A master case contains 1,000 total pieces, packaged as 10 bags of 100 pieces each.
